The East Carolina University softball team (10-16, 1-3 American Athletic Conference) will have a non-conference matchup against the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW) Seahawks (7-15, 4-2 Colonial Athletic Association) on April 7 at 5 p.m. in Wilmington, North Carolina, and the game can be seen on Flosoftball.
The Pirates recently lost three of four games in a series against the Wichita State University Shockers (24-5, 7-1 AAC) from March 26 through March 28 in Wichita, Kansas. ECU lost by a score of 16-1 on March 26, 7-4 on March 27, and 10-2 on March 28.
The Pirates' one win in the series came by a score of 8-4 on March 28. In that game, ECU had 11 hits, seven runs batted in and a total of two home runs.
In the matchup history between ECU and UNCW, the Pirates hold an advantage in the all-time series as they are up 19-8. However, UNCW has won six out of its last 10 matchups against the Pirates.
The last time the two teams met, ECU was able to pick up a victory by a score of 6-4 on March 13, 2018, at the Max R. Joyner Family Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina.
This season, the Seahawks have a team batting average of .250 as they have 141 total hits in 564 at bats. In addition, UNCW has scored 78 runs through 22 games and they have batted in 61 of those runs.

After the Pirates face off with the Seahawks, they will have a four-game AAC series against the No. 22 University of Central Florida Golden Knights (24-6, 4-0 AAC) from April 9 through April 11 in Greenville, North Carolina.
