East Carolina University Police Department has identified and arrested a suspect which was connected with an armed robbery at Fletcher Residence Hall on main campuson Sept. 12.

East Carolina University Police Department (ECU PD) has identified and arrested a suspect connected with an armed robbery at Fletcher Residence Hall on Sept. 12. 

On the afternoon of Sept. 12, ECU PD arrested 28-years-old Jamarcus Jamal Patterson of 3828 Sterling Point Drive, Winterville, North Carolina, according to ECU News Services press release. Patterson, who is not an ECU student, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.

An armed robbery occurred on Sept. 12 at approximately 5:15 a.m. where an ECU student was robbed of her purse while outside Fletcher Residence Hall near Fifth Street on campus. The victim was not injured, the press release said.

“Officers from ECU and Greenville police departments coordinated a joint investigation that led to the identification and arrest of the suspect,” the ECU News Services press release said.
