Dowdy Student Stores
Dowdy Student Stores at ECU is expected to open under new management on April 26.

Dowdy Student Stores at East Carolina University will close at 5 p.m. on April 14 and plans to reopen on April 26 at 10 a.m. under new management, according to the Dowdy Student Stores website.

The website said all current Dowdy Student Stores gift cards will expire on April 9.

New management is expected to be Barnes and Noble College (BNC) as former Interim Chancellor Ron Mitchelson announced on Jan. 29 that BNC has been chosen to manage and operate Dowdy Student Stores.

Mitchelson said BNC manages other universities within the University of North Carolina System, such as UNC Wilmington, UNC Greensboro, UNC Charlotte and UNC-Chapel Hill, as well as over 770 stores nationwide.

Members of the ECU community are still able to place online orders through options available on the Dowdy Student Stores official website until the store reopens its door for normal business hours.
