Greenville North Carolina's Police Department (GPD) announced one female was injured in a shooting near Darden Drive in an information release on Dec. 26.
According to a Tweet of the release by GPD, officers responded to multiple shots fired at approximately 3:30 a.m.
“The victim was transported to ECU Health for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries from gunfire,” GPD wrote in the Tweet.
Evidence is still being recovered from the scene, according to the Tweet. There is currently no known motive, GPD wrote, and there is no ongoing threat following the shooting.
The shooting took place near 505 Darden Drive, and the victim was found in a parked vehicle, according to the release.
“Additional information related to the victim will be released pending proper family notifications,” GPD wrote.
