A shooting took place at Greenville Mall as two people were injured.

Two males were injured in a shooting at the Greenville Mall on Nov. 25, the Greenville Police Department (GPD) wrote in a Tweet.

The shooting took place around 6:30 p.m. outside of the American Eagle store, according to the Tweet, and evidence suggests the shooting was not a random event.

“Preliminary information gathered at the scene suggests there was a dispute that occurred, resulting in the two men being shot,” GPD wrote.

According to the Tweet, there were no others injured, and there is no longer a threatening situation. The two men that were shot, the GPD wrote, have been taken to the East Carolina University Health Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.

The investigation as to what happened is still ongoing, according to the Tweet.

“More information will be released as it becomes available,” the GPD wrote.
