Volleyball team

Hurricane Dorian will not prevent the East Carolina University volleyball team from beginning its season. George Mason University will host ECU and Providence College for three matches on Sunday.

The Pirates will play the hosting Patriots at 11 a.m. and will face Providence afterwards at 2 p.m. Following both of ECU’s games, George Mason and Providence will square off at 5 p.m.

All three universities along with the University of Missouri were supposed to play in the Puerto Rico Clásico from Aug. 30-31. Due to the impending weather that Hurricane Dorian will bring, ECU and the other universities decided to not attend to tournament.

The event is free to attend for all fans, and the East Carolinian will post a series summary once the games have been completed.
