The East Carolina University Pirates softball team will add both Kiana Quolas and Jenna Cone to its staff, according to new head coach Shane Winkler.
Quolas and Cone worked with Winkler while he was the head coach of the George Washington University Colonials softball team. Quolas was an assistant coach for George Washington for the past three seasons and will serve the same position at ECU.
Cone is a former player for the Colonials and will serve as an assistant coach for the Pirates in the upcoming season. Cone graduated from George Washington in 2020 and during her career, Cone earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Second-Team All-America honors in 2021 after finishing in the top 50 nationally in doubles (15), home runs (17), home runs per game (0.35), on-base percentage (0.523), RBIs per game (1.06), slugging percentage (.880), total bases (125) and toughest to strike out (23.7). Winkler showed his excitement to work with Quolas and Cone.
“I'm excited to add both Kiana and Jenna to our staff here,” Winkler said. “They will be a perfect fit for the championship culture we are looking to build at ECU.”
