As a rising number of female students within the East Carolina University community continue to experience targeted crime on and around campus, The East Carolinian and the ECU Police Department hosted a discussion centered around the importance of female safety in the community. The event aimed to shed light on the unfortunate experiences women continue to face in the area, as well as worked to find a solution for Pirate safety. Panelists included Deputy Chief of Police Jason Sugg, Sergeant Stephanie Carnevale, Master Police Office Kim Bell and Captain Chris Sutton.
